Barton Park Precinct is a completed landscape project delivered for Bayside Council, forming a major public recreation and community destination at Banksia in southern Sydney. Co‑Ordinated Landscapes was engaged to deliver the landscape construction works, contributing to a large‑scale precinct that integrates sport, recreation and natural systems within a cohesive public domain.
The project delivers a diverse and highly activated park environment, bringing together organised sporting facilities, informal recreation spaces and natural landscape areas. A network of circulation paths, open turf zones and programmed activity areas creates a clear and legible layout, supporting both structured use and everyday community interaction.
Scope included a broad range of hard and soft landscape elements across the precinct, including playgrounds, outdoor fitness zones, multi‑use courts, pathways, timber decking, retaining structures, seating areas and extensive park furniture. Soft landscape works incorporated large‑scale planting, turf and habitat regeneration zones, contributing to both visual quality and environmental performance.
Materials and finishes were coordinated across the project to deliver a robust and consistent outcome, with a mix of concrete, timber, softfall, paving and natural elements used to create variation while maintaining cohesion. Feature elements such as nature play areas, boardwalks and structured seating zones provide focal points and enhance user engagement throughout the park.
Delivered across a complex and multi‑zone site, the project required careful coordination with civil, structural and services works to integrate landscape outcomes with infrastructure and environmental constraints. The result is a large‑scale public landscape that supports active recreation, strengthens community use and delivers long‑term value for the local area.
